Travel Wish List for 2022

Just like making resolutions on New Year’s, I love to make a Travel Wish List for the coming year. Some of destinations are already planned and booked, but others are still hopeful dreams. Whether the destinations listed will be actually visited this year or just cultivate my imagination, I feel that it is inspiring and exciting to have goals focused on travel. I hope you make your own wish list for the coming year, and if you would like, please share it in the comments section below. You may spark an interest in a location that I need to add to my wish list. We hope you enjoy this list….

Destinations I Already Have Planned

March 2022: I have coordinated an adventure in southern Utah this spring with my brother. In the past few years, I have visited the other three national parks in Utah, but this will be my first time to visit Zion or Bryce. This trip will span eight days of hiking, ATV riding, slot canyon adventures, and even snow tubing. I can’t wait to feature these destinations on our social media sites to share them with you all. Also, I will post a travel companion and itineraries for these locations on pinesandcoastlines.com following this trip.

Summer of 2022: Finally - I am going back to Europe! My partner and I plan to explore four countries over two weeks. We want to focus on the Alps in northern Italy, southern Austria, and Switzerland, and we plan to visit the Italian lake region. This will be his first international trip, and I can’t wait to share his impressions with you all. This trip will surly feature stunning scenery and epic hikes. Some of the highlight locations will be the following:

  • Lake Como, Italy - Visiting villas, small lakeside towns, and hillside churches.

  • Matterhorn - We look forward to hiking in this region and seeing this iconic peak.

  • Lauterbrunnen Valley - The gondolas to mountain towns will take us to new heights.

  • Dolomite Mountains - Hiking and scenic drives will be our focus on this leg of the trip.

  • Lake Garda - We will drive along the lakeside and visiting idyllic waterfront towns.

  • London - The trip will end in London to take in sights and a concert at Wembley Stadium.

This has been a trip I have dreamed about for years, and we are finally doing it! I am ecstatic about taking you all along for the adventure and sharing our photos, thoughts, and experiences.

Where Else Should I Go in 2022

I know that there will be other opportunities for travel in 2022, but I have not nailed down our remaining travel destinations for the year. Here are some of the places I am considering for 2022:

  • Glacier National Park - I want to drive the Going to the Sun Road and look for wildlife.

  • Vancouver Island - Waterfall hikes and coastal exploration would be the goal for this trip.

  • Vermont in the Fall - I am in love with autumn, and Vermont is top of my list for the fall.

  • Finger Lakes Region - Relaxing in a cabin in New York state sounds like a dream.

  • Hocking Hills State Park - This would be another chill spot to camp and hike.

  • Death Valley - In the colder months, Death Valley, CA could be a great option.

  • Upper Peninsula - I would love to explore the coast of the Great Lakes in the USA.

  • Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP - California is one of my favorite places, but I have never been to these two national parks. Maybe in 2022?

I get excited just thinking about the possibilitiy of these trips. Which of these spots would you suggest? Are there destinations that did not make my list that we need to consider for 2022? I would love your input! I want to feature destinations on the Pines and Coastlines website, blog, and social media that interest you - let me know your top places to visit in 2022.

Hope you enjoyed my wish list for traveling in 2022. Setting aspirational goals give me experiences to look forward to when daily life get’s challenging. It is my sincere desire that you find people, places, and experiences that motivate you to get the most out of 2022. Best wishes, and Happy New Year!

*Note: Typically the photos used on our site and in our blog are ones that I personally captured. Since I have yet to visit these locations, the photos for this post are stock photos.
